Warranty & Printhead Guarantee

90-Day Limited Printer Warranty and 1-Year Printhead Gamble Guarantee

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Every Certified Refurbished printer includes two separate forms of protection:

  1. A 90-Day Limited Printer Warranty covering eligible printer defects.

  2. Our exclusive 1-Year Printhead Gamble Guarantee covering the original printhead installed in the printer.

No product registration or monthly care plan is required to receive this coverage.

Who and what are covered

This coverage applies to the original purchaser and the original printer sold by CertifiedLabelPrinters.com through our website or another authorized CLP sales channel.

Coverage is tied to the printer’s serial number and is not transferable to another printer or owner.

Proof of purchase may be required. Products explicitly sold for parts, “as-is” or without warranty are excluded when that condition was clearly disclosed before purchase.

The coverage period begins on the confirmed delivery date. If the delivery date cannot be verified, the shipment date will be used.

90-Day Limited Printer Warranty

For 90 days after delivery, we warrant that the printer will be free from eligible defects that prevent it from performing the primary printing, feeding, sensing, connectivity and media-handling functions represented in its product listing.

Covered components may include:

  • Main logic and control components.

  • Power supplies and internal electrical components.

  • Motors, sensors and mechanical assemblies.

  • Connectivity hardware included in the purchased configuration.

  • Installed media-handling options identified in the listing.

  • Other internal parts necessary for normal printer operation.

Coverage applies only to the printer configuration, accessories and options identified in the product listing, written quote or order confirmation.

The printhead receives separate coverage under the 1-Year Printhead Gamble Guarantee described below.

1-Year Printhead Gamble Guarantee

The original printhead installed in every eligible Certified Refurbished printer is protected for one year after delivery.

An eligible printhead failure occurs when the original installed printhead can no longer produce commercially acceptable print quality under normal operating conditions after reasonable cleaning, adjustment, media verification and technical diagnosis have been completed.

If an eligible printhead failure is confirmed, we will repair the issue or provide one replacement printhead compatible with the covered printer.

The guarantee is limited to:

  • The original printhead installed when the printer was purchased.

  • One eligible replacement printhead per covered printer during the one-year period.

  • Standard replacement shipping within the contiguous United States.

  • The remaining portion of the original one-year guarantee period.

Installing a replacement printhead does not restart or extend the original guarantee period.

We may require photographs, printed samples, printer settings, diagnostic information or the return of the original printhead before approving a replacement.

What is not covered

The Limited Printer Warranty and Printhead Gamble Guarantee do not cover problems caused by:

  • Accidents, drops, impacts, crushing or improper transportation.

  • Liquid exposure, fire, excessive moisture, contamination or pest damage.

  • Power surges, incorrect voltage, improper electrical connections or unsuitable power sources.

  • Failure to clean or maintain the printer appropriately.

  • Improper installation, modification or unauthorized repair.

  • Removal, alteration or substitution of serial-number labels.

  • Operation outside the manufacturer’s environmental or duty specifications.

  • Incompatible drivers, applications, networks or third-party software.

  • Customer network, firewall, security or access-control problems.

  • Labels, ribbons or other supplies that do not meet the printer manufacturer’s applicable specifications.

  • Incorrect media loading, calibration, darkness, pressure or temperature settings.

  • Adhesive buildup, debris, residue or contamination.

  • Scratches, gouges or abrasion caused by contact with tools, jewelry, abrasive media or foreign objects.

  • Use of harsh chemicals or improper cleaning tools.

  • Damage caused by another printer component after the customer continued operating the printer despite an apparent mechanical problem.

  • Cosmetic wear that does not affect operation.

  • Shipping damage that was not reported in accordance with our Shipping Policy.

  • Normal replacement of labels, ribbons, rollers, belts, blades, batteries or other consumable or wear components unless expressly covered in writing.

We do not require the use of any particular brand of labels or ribbons. However, supplies must be suitable for the printer and meet the applicable manufacturer specifications.

Print-quality diagnosis

A print-quality problem does not always mean that the printhead has failed. Similar symptoms can be caused by:

  • Incorrect darkness or speed settings.

  • An incompatible ribbon and label combination.

  • Poor-quality, damaged or contaminated media.

  • Improper printhead pressure.

  • A worn platen roller.

  • Calibration or sensor problems.

  • Driver or application settings.

  • Dirt, adhesive or ribbon residue.

  • Network or data-formatting problems.

Before approving a printhead claim, we may ask the customer to complete reasonable diagnostic steps with our support team. This helps identify the actual cause and prevents unnecessary parts replacement.

How to request warranty service

Before returning a printer or component, contact us to request warranty service.

Please provide:

  • Your order number.

  • Printer model and serial number.

  • A description of the problem.

  • Photographs or video showing the issue.

  • Printed label samples when print quality is involved.

  • The label and ribbon specifications being used.

  • Printer darkness, speed and configuration information.

  • Any troubleshooting steps already completed.

We may provide remote diagnostic steps before issuing a Return Merchandise Authorization or approving a replacement component.

Do not send a printer or component without authorization. Unauthorized shipments may be refused.

Available remedies

If we confirm an eligible claim, CertifiedLabelPrinters.com may, at its option:

  • Provide troubleshooting or adjustment instructions.

  • Repair the covered printer or component.

  • Replace the defective component.

  • Replace the printer with the same or a functionally comparable model.

  • Issue store credit or a refund not exceeding the original amount paid for the covered product.

Replacement products and components may be new, refurbished or previously serviced but will provide functionally comparable performance.

A repaired or replaced printer component remains covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 30 days after return delivery, whichever is longer. A replacement printhead remains subject to the original one-year period and one-replacement limitation.

These remedies are subject to product and component availability.

Shipping responsibilities

For a defect reported during the initial 30-day return period, shipping is handled according to our Returns and Refunds Policy.

After the initial 30 days, the customer is responsible for securely packaging and shipping a printer to our service location unless we agree otherwise in writing.

For an approved warranty claim, we will cover standard ground shipping to return the repaired or replacement equipment to an address within the contiguous United States.

For an approved Printhead Gamble Guarantee claim, we will cover standard outbound shipping of an eligible replacement printhead within the contiguous United States. We may require the original printhead to be returned using the instructions we provide.

Expedited shipping, international shipping and special handling are not included. Customers in Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories or remote locations may be responsible for costs exceeding standard contiguous-U.S. ground shipping.

The customer is responsible for damage caused by inadequate return packaging.

Configuration and stored information

Warranty service may require resetting the printer, replacing storage components or restoring factory settings.

Customers are responsible for recording or backing up printer configurations, network settings, templates, fonts and other information before returning equipment. We are not responsible for lost configurations, data or third-party software.

Service timing

We make reasonable efforts to diagnose and complete warranty service promptly, but the warranty does not guarantee a specific repair-completion date.

Parts availability, shipping, troubleshooting requirements and the nature of the problem may affect service time.

Customers enrolled in an applicable care plan may receive the repair-queue priority provided by that plan. A care plan changes the service experience but does not expand printhead coverage unless its written terms expressly say so.

Relationship to care plans

RemoteCare, CompleteCare and ContinuityCare are optional paid service plans separate from the warranty included with the printer.

The 90-Day Limited Printer Warranty and 1-Year Printhead Gamble Guarantee apply regardless of whether the original purchaser enrolls in a care plan.

After the included warranty expires, ongoing support and eligible repair protection may be available through a care plan or separately purchased repair service.

Business interruption and consequential losses

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover lost production, lost revenue, lost data, employee time, substitute equipment, third-party service charges or other indirect or consequential losses.

Customers with critical printing operations should maintain appropriate backup equipment and business-continuity procedures. Hot-spare service may be available as a separately priced add-on.

Rights under applicable law

This warranty provides specific contractual rights. Customers may also have additional rights under applicable state or federal law.

Nothing in this warranty limits rights that cannot legally be waived or excluded.
